Halo Infinite Battle Royale Shooter?
Today, August 1st, 2020, a reddit user revealed that they were in an unofficial Japanese discord community and an influencer revealed that Halo Infinite is described as a “Battle Royale Shooter” on the Japanese XBOX store listing. This is contradicting news from the developer released two years ago when they were asked if Battle Royale was a genre they were including in the Halo Infinite title. They stated that they had no plans for a Battle Royale.
We remember this news and the Twitter community definitely held a loud discussion that day about how cool it would be to have a Halo Infinite battle royale included in the game.
Imagine jumping out of the Halo ring or a Pelican into Blood Gulch. You find a sniper rifle and a rocket launcher. You shoot down a banshee and grab a ghost to start speeding to the other side of the map. How fun would that be?
The game mode would bolster the numbers of players on the game helping sustain it for a longer period than standard multiplayer and campaign alone.
This really just signals to the strength of the Halo community finally being rewarded for their years of loyalty. We can’t wait to play whatever they give us, the Halo game is legendary in our minds and wouldn’t have it any other way.
Goldenboy explained the leak on his Twitter breaking the news to the Western community largely. “According to a user on Reddit the Japanese Halo Infinite page lists multiplayer as a ‘Genre: Battle Royale Shooting’. Given how free to play was leaked based on an early listing (and turning out to be true,) how likely is this to be true and how do you feel about it?”

This could mean that we are getting a battle royale mode as well as standard multiplayer. Considering the success and hype surrounding the battle royale genre in the gaming market it would seem like a no brainer to include it with a new FPS title.
