Launch Week Patch Notes

This is a list of the launch week patch notes including information about multiplayer, zombies, weapon buffs, weapon nerfs scorestreaks, progression, and more. On November 20th, 2020, Treyarch Studios released patch notes for the first week of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s release, also known as launch week.

Treyarch claimed that game stability and player experience were top priorities at launch, and that they’ve been working with PlayStation and Xbox to track and patch bugs and crashes across the board. Since launch, they’ve added several gameplay improvements and fixes for key issues in Multiplayer and Zombies, implemented weapon and Scorestreak tuning, made various stability fixes across all modes, and much more – see below for the full list.

Trello Board Now Live

To help everyone stay up to date, Treyarch launched a Trello board as a one stop destination for the latest in issue tracking, patch notes, and game news!

While this won’t serve as a comprehensive list of known issues (several of which are listed below), Treyarch will do their best to track the bigger issues of specific interest for the community on that Trello board. You can also search the Trello board for details on how to report bugs on your specific platform, where to contact Player Support, and when to expect specific fixes to be released.

Treyarch thanked the millions of players who’ve already jumped online with for the worldwide release of Black Ops Cold War. They mentioned that the first week provided lots of data and the team is focused on improving the gameplay experience even further and preparing for next week’s launch of Nuketown ’84 on November 24th.

Free Nuketown Weapon Bundle

You MUST redeem your free Nuketown Weapon Bundle before December 3rd. This also includes a new Epic Weapon Blueprint, six Weapon Charms, and a Nuketown themed Calling Card, Sticker, and Emblem! Get all the details here.

Before we dive into our launch week updates, one topic of discussion that we wanted to clear up is how Season Levels work. This is a new progression system for Call of Duty, and it’s important to understand what happens after earning your first Prestige.

Season Leveling: How it Works

Once you complete Military Ranks 1-55 and reach Prestige 1, you’ll enter Season Levels. These levels represent the new Prestige progression journey, and rather than scaling with progressively higher XP requirements like Military Ranks, each Season Level requires the same amount of XP to complete.

In the current Pre-Season, the maximum available level is Prestige 3 at Season Level 100. After Season One begins, players will have up to 1,000 Season Levels to complete each season, with new Prestige Levels to earn as well as Prestige Master at level 200. The Prestige Shop will also become available to players who’ve earned their first Prestige Key, which will allow players to unlock Legacy Prestige Icons from previous games.

As a reminder, this system will carry over to Warzone and Modern Warfare with Season One for a unified progression journey across all three games! Learn more at our Player Progression blog.

Note: There is currently a known issue where your Season Level will display properly in the upper-right corner of the screen between matches, but your level displayed in the After-Action Report will be inaccurate. We’re fixing this in a future update.

How To Get A Free Ray Gun In Zombies

How To Get A Free Ray Gun In Zombies

COD Black Ops Cold War Zombies easter egg

This is How to get free Juggernog and a free Ray Gun in COD Black Ops Cold War Zombies for free! Bruno made a helpful tutorial video and uploaded it to his YouTube channel. First, build the pack a punch machine. Second, find the 5 orbs of bright light hidden around the pack a punch room. Bruno used a shotgun and noted in his video it was difficult for the orb in the ceiling. He recommended to use a pistol or better and also mentioned not to use a knife. Each orb of light will disappear when it is shot properly with a weapon. Then you will be transported to an area flooded with friendly zombies. To the left of the pack a punch machine is a group of zombies doing the Coffin Dance meme.

How to get A free Juggernog Perk in Zombies

After they put down the coffin, you can open the coffin, which includes a Ray Gun and Juggernog perk. NOTE: It is not guaranteed that you will get these two items or either of them, but it is a very high chance you will get them. Dogs will appear with the coffin so be prepared to fight and loot simultaneously.

How to Decrypt the Floppy Disk

How to Decrypt the Floppy Disk in COD Cold War Operation Chaos

How to Decrypt the Floppy Disk

This is a guide on how to decrypt the floppy disk in Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War campaign Operation Chaos. This is a COD Black Ops Cold War side mission that can be performed in between main missions of the story campaign. This mission has you take down the ex-CIA op and his whole spy ring, as well. In order to complete the mission you need to decrypt the floppy disk.

The evidenced needed to crack the code and decrypt the floppy disk is rewarded through actions in the campaign missions:

Redlight, Greenlight: The front page of the Observer.

Nowhere To Run: Capture Qasim Javadia for the Coded Message.

Brick in the Wall: The numbers station broadcast.

The missions can be replayed in case you miss them the first time through. Once all three are located the floppy disk may be decrypted. Examine all three pieces of evidence. The Coded Message has numbers that are in red and blue that follow a pattern which is different for every play through. Put the numbers you found together to create a four digit code. Take that code number and examine the Numbers Station Broadcast next. The city that is listed with your numbers is the password for the computer that will be used further in the sequence of events. Examine the front page of the Observer next and the headline will display letters in red ink. Descramble the red letters and examine the numbers station broadcast. The descrambled word will match the name of one of the places listed in the numbers station broadcast. Every playthrough the location name changes. Examine the Numbers Station Broadcast AGAIN and find the four numbers that match whatever city name you just deciphered. Enter these four digits as the “code” for the computer used later in this sequence of events.

After all of these things have been completed, selecting “Decrypt Floppy Disk” will be available and the aforementioned computer will be available to enter your codes and phrases. Enter the four digit code you found last for “Code”, enter the password you found second for “Passphrase”, and then authenticate the code and passphrase. This should complete the task and provide the info needed to complete Operation Chaos.

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War To Be Revealed August 26th 2020

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Reveal

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War will be revealed on August 26th, 2020.

The future of Call of Duty is near and its called Black Ops Cold War. We’ve been watching the community decipher these cryptic clues since the Mystery Crates were showing up on people’s door steps all over the world. At the end of this crazy journey we have found out what some already believed to be true from rumors and leaks previously this year. The next title in the Call of Duty series is Treyarch’s COD Black Ops Cold War and seems to be a reboot of the entire Black Ops series. Call of Duty released this video on their YouTube channel confirming the title and ending the days long journey of ciphers and history videos found on the website PawnTakesPawn.com. That video has now been made private and shorter versions of the reveal video have been circulating. The reveal is to take place in Warzone on the 26th of August and we will be tuned in like the rest of the world.

How To Watch The In Game COD 2020 Video Reveal Event

In the battle royale game mode known as Warzone, originally released with Modern Warfare and then separated into it’s own Activision title, players can squad up and jump into battle on a map of Verdansk to become the last team standing. Warzone was also the game mode Treyarch used to hide the easter eggs hinted to in the previously mentioned chess website and mystery boxes. Players will be able to jump in and activate a bounty that will display the reveal video trailer on the big screen in the soccer stadium area of the map. Rumor has it that this is the campaign mode reveal only and that the COD Black Ops Cold War multiplayer reveal will be on September 9th, 2020. Another rumor indicates that the game will have a multiplayer beta after the mp reveal and that the full game will release in November of 2020. We will do our best to fact check these rumors and update this page in the future with that information as it becomes available.

Call of Duty History

This is the 17th title in the Call of Duty video game series published by Activision. Call of Duty is a first-person shooter video game franchise published by Activision. Starting out in 2003, it first focused on games set in World War II, but over time, the series has seen games set in modern times, the midst of the Cold War, futuristic worlds, and outer space. The games were first developed by Infinity Ward, then also by Treyarch and Sledgehammer Games. Several spin-off and handheld games were made by other developers.

CALL OF DUTY ESPORTS

Call of Duty became competitive and players were able to start competing for money both online and offline through various tournament organizers. The most popular and arguably the most successful organization in regards to Call of Duty was Major League Gaming (MLG). Activision bought MLG and then created the Call of Duty World League. This was a successful years long tournament ran by the same people that operated MLG before the acquisition. Then in 2020, Activision decided to create the Call of Duty League. The COD League is a city based franchise league similar to Activision’s Overwatch League.
